Steps of My Life to Success

Hi, everyone!
Now, I will tell you about my goals in my life and how to achieve them.
I think everyone has their own goals. And if you ask me, of course I do have my goals.

Since I was at pre-school, I've already chose drawing as my hobby. I often drew my imaginary house on a random paper. But at that time, I still didn't know what profession would I choose in the future.
So, when my parents asked me, "What do you want to be in the future?" I randomly answered, "I want to be a doctor."

At elementary school, I started to have a goal: "I will become a doctor so I can cure a lot of people." To be honest, it was just a random thought of my mind. I was too lazy to search more about medical study.
That goal stayed in myself until I became a 3rd grader at Senior High School. At this time, I had to decide what university should i choose because I was already on the last year of Senior High School. But, I thought becoming a doctor isn't is my real passion and dream. So, I still couldn't decide while my friends already decided their future. Then, I studied about perspective and drawing buildings. I thought I have attracted in architecture and I started to gain more information about architecture studies by searching in the internet  and I felt that I've finally found my real goal, be an architect. I even went to a psychologist to ask her opinion about my dream job, and she said based on my psychology, architectural study fits myself well. Now,  I turn away from my previous goal, "be a doctor". I finally decide my goal, "be an architect".

After graduated from SMAN 3 Bandung, I planned to continue my study to SAPPK faculty at Institut Teknologi Bandung. I'd like to choose the 'Architecture' study program. After I graduated, I will continue my magister study in Europe.
Soon, I will go back to Indonesia as a successful architect. I want to build a comfortable living for many people in this world. I have a big dream, I mean big goal in my life: "When I have already succeed, I will make my parents proud. I will build my parents a home that can make them happy and comfortable." And I'm willing to fulfill that goal. I also want to make my imaginary home become real.

Of course, there are many efforts that should we do if we want to achieve our goals.
First, we need to study hard. Don't ever dream to achieve your goal if we are lazy to study. If we already work hard, then it's our time to give it all up to God and pray.  Another effort we should do is socialize more with people surrounding us. Smile to your friends, neighbors, or even to people your don't know.  Don't be too serious on studying, we also need our social life. And don't ever forget to ask for the blessings of our parents. Without parents' blessing, we would not be able to achieve our goals. Be nice to our parents, obey their words, and don't make them disappointed with us. The last thing that is really important, never giving up your goals. Let's do our best for the best result!

Discussional Article: ASEAN Free Market Economy

Before we discuss more about the topic, let's analyze what is the meaning of the free market. The meaning of free market-listed on wikipedia- is a system in which the prices for goods and services are determined by the open market and consumers, in which the laws and forces of supply and demand are free from any intervention by a government, price-setting monopoly, or other authority. Meanwhile, in a  free-market economy, prices for goods and services are set freely.

The formation of the MEA itself is to increase  the competitiveness of ASEAN countries and may compete with India, China, and even the European Union, which are already developed.
ASEAN countries consist of 10 countries: Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Meanwhile, China and Japan now become the partner of ASEAN.

Until now, there are pros and contras about MEA. Many people who agree and disagree with the emergence of the MEA because of their multiple causes, factors, and impacts. The pros said that Indonesia is well prepared to face the MEA, caused by several factors or benefits from MEA:
 1. Information will be more easily and quickly obtained.
 2. Will create and increase employment.

 3. With import-export during MEA, the country needs will be fulfilled and can increase state revenues.
 4. Can boost the local economy, the state, as well as to stabilize the country's economy.
 5. Domestic production activities will increase both in quality and quantity.
 6. Increase foreign exchange through import duties and other duties on exports and imports.

On the other side, which mean, the contras side, they declared that Indonesia is not yet ready for the MEA. It seems like the flow of foreign products on the free market from various countries will flooded through this country. Very concerned if Indonesian people are not ready and can't stem all foreign products, it will causes many entrepreneurs go out of business, and this certainly affects the economy of Indonesia. The presence of MEA also have a negative impact on economic growth in Indonesia:
  1. With the free market, other countries can easily sell many high-quality goods with cheap prices. If that happens, mostly of the domestic industrial sector will unable to compete and even suffered huge losses. If Indonesian people are not able to compete, unemployment and even poverty rate will increase.
  2. Strangers can exploit Indonesia's natural resources. This can cause huge losses to Indonesia.

From the explanation above, if we are not able to face the free market, we will lose competitiveness with other countries. Chairman of the central executive committee Indonesian Economists Association (ISEI), Prof. Dr. Edy Suandi Hamid, M.Ec and hundreds of Indonesian Economists Association stated in a national seminar ISEI that many parties considered that Indonesia is not yet ready to face the ASEAN regionalism because of the competitiveness of national and regional economy is The other factor are Indonesia is not yet ready for human resources. If Indonesian human resources are not be able to compete with foreign workers who have more skills and more creative, then certainly there will be more unemployment. Another factor is the minimum lack of socialization of MEA on society. It can be proved that many Indonesian people are still don't understand about MEA so they are not aware to prepare for MEA.
